 Subject: 88 dakota skips spits and sputters

i have a 88 dodge dakota 3.9 throttle body injected i am the original owner i have 256000 miles and otherwise well maintained. just started skipping spitting and backfiring idle fine but when i press on the gas pedal it starts press all the way to the floor it runs fine as i decelerate it starts chugging again. i have changed fuel filter plugs wires coil cap rotor ign mod smog pump. need some help would hate to stop driving my old beater been a great truck

just changed fuel pressure regulator still same problem what else can i do to solve the other than scrap truck

problem solved one of the new plug wires was defective and allowing intermittent spark replaced with new wire and zoom zoom good for another 260000 miles
