Message: I got a 88 I don't have a condenser so i want to take out my hole AC system. what would be a good way to do that it looks like the fan pulley would be in the way of the alternator belt if I take our the compressor. what ya think

Message: iltis, you are correct, if you take off the compressor the alt. belt will hit the fan. I did about the same thing on mine, I found an idler pully on a Thunderbird 1977 with a 302 V8 I took the whole bracket, bolted it to the a/c bracket and some bolts next to it to hold it up and a new belt to fit the new set up, it works great for me. Mine is an 88 as well. you only need 1 belt with that set up though, which for me it works fine. I did this in 2000, just after I bought the truck, I got it the dak, out of a junk yard. Some one had already taken the a/c compressor.
Good Luck
