Subject: 1990 Dakota needs help. IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1990 Dodge Dakota with a 3.9L V6 and a 3 Speed with overdrive automatic trans. The engine has 282000 miles on it and still runs smooth without any leaks or stalls. The only issue I have is with the loss of HP and my brake system. For as many miles it has I understand the power loss. But Ive had issues finding performance parts on it. I would even convert it to Mag stage if I knew the requirments. The brake system is tricky. I installed new wheel cylinders because my back drums werent working. With that installed the brakes worked fine for a week. Then I had air in my lines again. Now I have no rear brakes at all. My issue with this is where to start. Help?

Message: Do you have rear wheel ABS? If so, the bleeding procedure is to open the bleeder screws at all 4 wheels and on the ABS cylinder (which is mounted on the left rear frame rail); let some fluid seep; close all 4 wheel screws and bleed the ABS cylinder; then bleed the RR, LR, RF and LF wheels in order. I found I had to repeat a couple of times to get all air out.
