Message: I'm not sure and don't want to freak you out but i think that can be REALLY BAD like a blown head gasket or something really expensive hope it something simple and cheap

Message: I had the same thing happen to me. I noticed it shortly after I changed the thermostat. I started to fill the over flow up and would check it a few days later only to see that it was empty again. I went through this for over a week before it started holding antifreeze.
No visible leaks and no white foam in the oil. As for head gasket, I can't say for sure that it is running through the block. Always possible but I am sure you would have known it by now.
The only thing I can guess is that when the engine cools down, it is pulling in coolant from the over flow and I would guess that maybe your radiator wasn't quite full.
Hope this helps.

Message: Leaks can occur at the water pump shaft seal, radiator, heater core, hoses, and the engine itself.
If there are no signs of an external leak then check is the radiator cap. A weak cap will allow the system to boil over. Both the cap and radiator should be pressure checked with a pressure tester. If the cooling system fails to hold pressure, coolant is leaking internally. A compression check on the engine will tell if a head gasket is leaking or if there is a crack in the cylinder or head. A higher than normal dipstick level and/or excessive moisture in the crankcase would indicate a coolant leak into the crankcase.

Message: or it could be leaking in through a cracked heater core like mine was, you might notice a "light" atifreeze smell, LOL

Message: no no no it is the gasket at the thermostat/hose horn the doggone things Chysler used are so bad they have to use a gasket sealent on them at the factory. remove the horn from the engine block and very completelt clean the block and the horn of ALL material right down to the bare metal. see the two little nubs on the horn? they keep ham handed mechanics from over tightening the two bolts and warping the horn, DONOT sand them off.use a brand new clean, no sealent gasket from napa, some of the others are just a bit thinner, and snug up the bolts DONOT moose them down, and that should stop your leak. the reason that you donot see any coolant around this area is that it escapes as steam and evaporates immediatly.Did this to mine and it stopped the disappearing act for a year now.
