Subject: 04 3.7l tranny slip?

Message:
i have a 2004 3.7l v6 4x4 club cab with 75000
miles. ive had the truck since 2008 in which it
had 25000 miles. second owner and have always
keep up on it. never had any tranny problems, but
have always had suspension issues....yada yada.
my confusion runs with the tranny this time. when
ever i coast and make a turn in D (automatic btw)
and go to accel out and away, the transmission
isnt in "sync" with the engine rpms. but after
lifting off the throttle a tad bit, it feels like
it finally grabs the gear(second i think not sure
tho) i had a total transmission flush done
consisting of a buddy and i running the trans
flush machine at his shop on it for about an hour.
i have never change the filter unit in the tranny,
nor have had the bands adjusted. please if anyone
can tell me what the term for this problem is or
how to fix it that would save my life i love
the truck like a son and this site is the best for
dakota forums thanks sorry for long post too

ok so you got the fluid flush good, did you make sure your using the correct atf? wrong fluid causes slipage. a band adjustment will probably help. you could also be having torque converter issues or experiancing a late converter lock up (the converter clutch could be wore out) its like a manual trans clutch inside the TQ that locks on computer comand. if thats wore when you give it alot of throttle then the clutch will slip causeing the rpm fluxuations

just some thoughts...
