Subject: Cant figure this out IP: Logged
Message: I have a 93 3.9L v6 Dakota and week or so ago i
was driving home and my truck shut off. After
getting it home I tested for spark and there was
none going to my coil. I replaced that and all of
my plugs and still nothing, I then realized I was
blowing my Auto shutdown fuse under the hood. I
cleaned and re-soldered the three to one splice
and that didn't do anything either. I noticed that
some one had added in a length of wire to the box
in the cab on the wire that ran to auto shutdown
fuse so i redid their work and STILL nothing. I
noticed that the fuse is blowing instantly when I
turn the key, but the truck is turning over just
fine. I took out the fuel pump relay and after
doing this it didn't blow any fuses but still
wouldn't start. Could this be anything other than
my fuel pump going bad because I really don't want
to replace it. I also checked the wiring running
to the fuel pump but everything looks fine. Any
help would be greatly appreciated

Message: You have a short in a wire, touching ground.
That is blowing the fuse!
