 Subject: Need help brakes went out yesterday

yesterday my 99 Dodge Dakota i heard a POP and
then i had no brakes and the ABS light and the
Brake light both came on but when my Husband
checked them last night i had full brakes and the
brake fluid was full what could have made this
happen? and why would i loose my brakes and when i
looked after it happened i seen fluid under the
back by the pumpkin in the middle i have been
trying to figure out what made this happen b/c i
had my little girl in the truck at the time
please help me figure out why this happened to my
truck i have had it two yrs and i have had no work
done to it but oil changes which my husband does
himself

Ur differential"pumpkin" has nothing to do with ur breaks.
That's pop might have been ur little girl pushing the parking
brake and then releasing it, and just for safety check the
brake booster, while the truck is off, pump the pedal, if it gets
stiff then good, it the pedal keeps being "spongy" then bad.
Turn the truck o and see if the pedal depresses to the floor,
then good, if it stays stiff then bad.

my little girl can not reach my e-brake because the
e-brake is next to the pedals on my truck and is on
the drivers side by my door so it could not have
been that

If you've got fluid under the back at the pumpkin coukd be the flexible brake line to the rear brakes blew out.

Oh yea the brake lines do run there, true. They should be on
top I believe, they round around behind the fuel tank too.
Good sh*t daddio. Lol I would have never thought of that.
