Message: I have a 2000 Dakota slt 4x2.
Best I ever used are the champion platinums :)
But people on these posts say,
NGK FR5 or
Autolites 3923
are the best and they seem most preferred.

Message: even though the CEL is not lit yet you can check for a code. Perhaps you got a bad plug or crossed a wire somewhere.

Message: Well I'm hoping I crossed the wires accidentally. The plugs
came pre gapped, but I did check every one to make sure
and I made very small adjustments if not any to all of the
plugs. Would being off of the .040 gap spec by very little
make it shake and run rough?.But one the good side The
pinging that made it sound like a diesel went away!

And no it's fine, .040 close enough is good.
Lol I am surprised ur truck ran good before.

Message: I did accidentally cross wires. The 4 and 6 cyl wires I put in
the wrong hole. Truck runs fine now! After I fixed it I took it
for a spin and ended up hitting 145,000 mile mark on the
odo. That's good for a dodge with no rebuild on the tranny
or engine

No, that's expected, that's typical. Never had to rebuild an engine or tranny ever, on any Mopar, and I've owned 7 of them. Earliest I sold one was 157K miles, to get a good trade value, and last one went 308K miles before finally rusting out.

Message: Wow that's awesome.I wasn't ripping on
dodge. I've juss heard and read how ppls
tranny and engine go at as low as 30,000.
But for a Dakota that has 145000, which
had tons of problems and recalls, and
bad mileage(Dakotas in general). That's
awesome

Message: I have used Halo plugs, and now using E-3 and they both are great plugs, both give better power and fuel mileage. The E-3's are cheaper and I would recommend them to anyone who needs to replace plugs, or is just wanting to try something different.
Good Luck
