I don't think cleaninig the IAC will help with mileage but it wouldn't hurt. 9mpg is low and it smells like it's rich. Change the cap and rotor or do a complete new tune up then check mileage with a couple of tanks of gas. And while on the subject, how are you calculating fuel mileage?

Well I have a 17 gallon tank. Every quarter tank I only get 35
miles on the dot. Nothing more nothing less. I baby my
truck, and I don't have a lead foot. I tried letting it warm up
to save gas and I get the same if I drive it when its cold.
There are 4 quarter's and I only get 35 per quarter. 4 goes
into 35 about 9 times. So 9 mpg

Your method of mileage calculations is wrong. Fill up, record mileage on the odometer. drive unitl at least hald of a tank then refill. Divide miles driven by gallons to refill. That is how you calculate MPG. Any other way is incorrect. Do that for a couple of tanks and then repost with your MPG.

Here are the sensor voltages bro,

Throttle Pos Sensor aprox 5V when ignition is on
When truck is on, should read .35 and .9

Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor 1.0-1.5V(make sure
rubber elbow isn't damaged)

Intake Air Temparature Sensor 5V

Engine Coolant Temp Sensor 5V

Crankshaft Position Sensor 5V

Camshaft Position Sensor 5V

Oxygen sensors will vary from 0.1-0.9V

Idle Air Control Valve(ur Rpms should be high or low or your
car won't start and Rpms should be at 600-700) clean it
though. If ya haven't cleaned it ever.

Replace ur PCV valve(it's like 5$) why not?

And check ur fuel pressure,
Fuel Pressure- 47-51psi
Fuel Inkector Resistance 10.8 to 13.2 ohms @68 degrees F

Test these while at idle, o2, iac and map.

OEM nothing better everyone claims to have a favorite here
from 3923's to NGK FR5's to whatever nothing you will gain
in mileage. Good luck finding a plug that will give you better
MPG's all HYPE out there. And Iam not trying to be a know it
all or a smartass either which a few might think

Yezzir,

The NGK and the autolites seem to be the most best used
here on these post.

I used champions the platinum(they gave a good idle that's it)
but one of them were stripped and I went to get a new plug
and they gave me a double platinum and the idle was better
than the accel plugs!

The accel are crap(my idle is kinda rough and I have access
cap n rotor with wires!)

The Bosch werent so bad(in between)

I'm a use autolites next time.

I don't know which ones are the best but I would go with the
autolites 3923.

Well in these forms I have read many results on the 3923's.
Saying there good and saying there crap. So I'm prolly gona
go with the ngk's. What are the ngk FR5's tho I haven't found
those anywhere online. And how does all of the heat rating
stuff work?

They have em at autozone and pepboys.
I prefer pep boys.

The plugs are One heat range colder, if ur truck is pinging
there's a chance it will make it stop.

Holy sh*t!!! Stock is 195 degrees. Change it, and idk if that
would drop mpg. I'm running a 180 Jet thermo, but it's cause
I have mods on my truck. A SCT Tuner requires that.

If you run a 180 deg tstat you run the risk of the engine not getting warm enough to go into closed loop and the PCM will think it is too cold and dump more fuel than necessary. Then your mileage will suck. Install a 195 tstat and be done with it. I have gotten uop to 24.5mpg on the hwy in a '00 QC 4x2, 5spd, 3.55:1 gears and 235/75/15 tires. Only mods, underdrive crank pulley, V8 TB, CPS mod. Average about 16-18 city.

With the 24 gallon tank I can get over 550 miles to a tank on the highway.

Yes Warren, it's better if u run the 195, I'm running a 180
cause of a superchip tuner I have on my truck. Have u
recorded any mpg's yet?

Daddio I have a 22 gallon tank. I guess it's cause u have a
quad cab.
