I have a 94' 3.9 magnum sprt. 2x4 5spd. I'm having problems shifting from third to 4th or downshifting at all, I thought gear box was dry...low, but filled with specified gear oil and no improvement. The clutch is fine , new, no slippage. I can go through all gears fine, 4th has always grinded a tad . Is my synchronizer going out ?

Sounds like a synchro problem. What oil did you use? And are you sure the clutch is disengaging all the way when the clutch pedal is pressed?

Is it cold where you are at and does it get better when warm? Check for any tech notes released for what fluid to use. My 89 had problems going into 2nd gear when cold and we switch from the 10W-30 to the Dextron II that the tech notes suggested and it's been much better. Not sure what they used in the 94 though.

They gave me Valvoline 80 weight gear oil. I figure it is the synchronizer Dadio . This truck has been ran hard . My neighbor had it for 5-6 yrs and i told him I wanted it if he sold it . Noone has seen one that sits this low stock. And it runs like a v-8 I don't know what I have bit I get rubber in1st through 4th and almost in 5th at 110 115 mph. People can't believe it and he says all he had done to it was the timing and something about abigger cam. It is fast . The v-6 mustangs and Camaro's don't have nothing for ti . What kind of truck do I have Daddio /
