When I turn the key the tach bounces all over the place.
Never mind it turns but won't start. I'm thinking they have
something to do with each other.

I had a similar problem in my 99v6 recently. Don't know if this will help you but my transmission fluid level was low and causing the computer to act up severely. Has something to do with Dodge. My mechanic and I went through everything that we could and couldnt figure it out. No error codes when he hooked up to the diagnostic. We topped up the fluids and bingo bango it went away. Really weird

Quite possibly Casey as I had to get my truck towed last night for not starting. I tried everything I could think of but it looks like it could be the Crank position sensor which is located on the bell housing. If that isnt it it may be the PCM. By no way shape or form, am I a mechanic but I've had more than my share of problems with my truck. This is a new one. I've had it for 9 years 250,000km and for the most part untill just recently has been more than reliable. I love my truck. Just hope it survives this latest problem
