thanks very much for this forum: it has already helped me confirm several things that are NOT wrong with my truck.
this truck is my daily driver. truck has NOT been sitting. gas in tank is fresh etc.
getting no spark through coil.
coil is good:have tried 3 different ones. including new one. beleive computer is good. have tried 6 different ones. pin 3 (at computer connector plug) has voltage all the time. pin 9 (at computer connector plug) has voltage with key on.
have replaced crank position sensor.
have replaced the pick up coil in distributor. (twice)
#115 splice under power distribution center has been re-done. asd relay good. fuel pump relay good. both checked, swapped with starter relay. engine cranks properly. timing chain is new. 9 volts present at crank position sensor.(orange wire) 5 volts present at crank position sensor. (grey/black wire) .03 volts present at cranks position sensor. (black/light blue wire) battery voltage present at coil. ground "pulse" present when cranking.(at coil) injectors are pulseing. have 40+ psi fuel pressure at schrader valve. fuel pump does run for 2 sec when key turned on. good coil wire. fuses in power distribution center are all good.
occasionally, engine will start, run for a short period of time and die. won't start back. try later, maybe it starts, maybe it won't when it does start, it runs a little and dies.
really, the dam thing should run.
this is driving me NUTS, i need some expert advice.
thanks.
