No bus on the dash means you will be taking a bus.
Just Kidding!
No bus means you have a bad connection at the computer, or a bad ground. May also be the computer.
Disconnect your battery, than unplug from the computer, spray contact cleaner on all pins. Clean all grounds from engine to body. Clean your battery cable ends Too.

I have the same model as your truck and had to replace the computer about 5 month ago. It was doing the exact same thing. Check all of the wires and grounds first, but it is most likely the computer. You can buy refurbished models online for around $260 that are already flashed. Much better the $1,000 you would pay at the dealer.
