Hey guys have not been on here in a long time, but ran into a problem with my 87 3.9 4x4 dakota, i just replaced all the plugs, wires and cap and rotor, truck purred like a kitten after doing so. While on my way to work last week, im just cruising along i get a few back fires/sputters and it went dead. After waiting for a tow truck and getting a tow home, i quickly checked to make sure i was getting fuel, which i was. Then when i checked to see if i was getting spark nothing....

Things i have tried, another brand new coil=no change, a hot to the coil from the battery, and then i got spark, so i know its not the coil, something that is before the coil to be causing it. Wondering if this has a ignition module and if so where is it located been having a hard time trying to find it online, as i have reason to believe that is what decided to conk out on me. My guess after running the old plugs wires and cap(way to many miles on them it wasnt pulling as much juice) i put all the new stuff on caused the ignition module to burn up. Keep in mind this truck has over 300K on it, and was running perfectly fine before the tune up and after, just until this happened.

Any other suggestions that could be causing the problem please drop a line. Like i said i have reason to believe it is something that burned up, my brothers 87 wrangler did the same thing and it was the ignition module.
