Subject: la v6 to magnum v6 swap IP: Logged
Message: I would love to switch to a fuel injected magnum v6 for the
extra 50 horse plus the torque. I have a la v6 in a 1990
Dakota. A v8 isn't really in my budget nor is the gas. I guess
I'm asking is it a simple swap. Motor computer and wiring
harness and bolt up or what???

Message: Mike, I think you are correct, as for everything bolting up it will. The biggist problem will be the computer and wiring, but if you take your time and check with your manual and I think it will work fine.
Good Luck,

Message: the 1988 and up motors are the roller lifter type
and will except the magnum heads and intake.
The only problem with your 1990 is the wiring
harnas what you would have to do is get a 92
or newer harnas and comp and wire it up and it
will run great we have even done this in boats
that had 318;s in them and the people loved the V6
but use a 92 to 95 obd1 system they are eiseyer to work with

Message: So I could use my shortblock. all the pullies head bolts and
heads will bolt on properly without any mods? Do I have to
splice any wires from the 93 harness to the old one for the
truck? I found a 93
