Headers will not change the sound, or at least very little .
The choice of muffler definitely will .

If you just want it to be loud, just run the headers without anything behind them, that should make it real loud. If you need an exhaughst system, you could put on a cross over pipe, and run a 3 inch pipe to a single 3 inch muffler then a tail pipe, other wise it may be just a little loud in the cab. There are tons of loud mufflers out there, the Flowmaster 40 is real loud, as well as Cherry Bomb has a few that are very loud as well.
