My 2000 sounds like a cracked exhaust manifold just
started in the last 1k miles, but I cant find
anything.. any clues?

If it sounds like it is coming from the passenger side you are probably right. The passenger side manifolds are known to crack.
The crack is hard to find on the vehicle.

I have had the BOLTS on the manifold break on my 2002 4.7.
Happened on both sides. Of course dealer said to replace the
manifold...my mechanic ordered the bolts. Quick and easy. Totally
fixed. The other side went a few years later and we fixed those too.

i have 2003 v6 3.9 when is cold is good as soon as
get hot tapping noise sounds like old cars has
lifter noise. no idea if this engine has same set
up
