Hey all.
I have a '01 3.9L. Im thinking about up grading my TB. I'm looking at a 50mm TB right now. It was from a V8 but the guy ported and polished it to be a true 50mm TB. My question is, is it too big? I already have installed on my truck, msd box, bigger plug wires, bigger coil, TB spacer (which was a waist of money) CIA. I plan to put a superchager on it soon. i already have it. just not installed yet. also want to slide a cam in. but is 50mm too big for right now? thanks guys.

48 in the biggest, 50 is too big unless the motor is
heavily modified.

Stick with an unmodded V8 TB or aftermarket 48mm. Even with the S/C it will be plenty for the V6.
Can I ask, where did you find the S/C? And what will you do about fuel management? The stock PCM will probably freak out with boost.

I got it made by Thomas Knight. It's basically half of a turbo that I out pulleys on to run it off my belts. He makes the fins so that they give you more boost at lower rpms. and as for the PCM. I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing with that yet. Most Likely I'll have to take it to get reprogrammed by somebody.
So you think the 50mm is to much for it. what would it do if its to big?

If it's too big you won't make as much power as it should. Be careful with the boost. start slow these Dodge 3.9's don't like a lot of boost. unlike BUICK's 3.8. They'll handle 20psi easily in stock form.

oh ok thanks. and i will. going to start out pretty low boost and work my way up. not planning on going crazy with it. just a few lbs.
