My transmission dipstick has been rubbing since the purchase of my 3.9L auto Dakota. but when I finally got around to having the dealership look at it they said I had moved it to put in my cold air intake, I assured the guy that its been rubbing since the purchase of the vehicle and he said there was nothing he could do... any feedback would be appreciated

What is it rubbing on? Maybe you could attach it to something? My Dak has a manual tranny so i don't know. Another idea would be what the dealer would probably do and reposition it (Thats car dealer talk for "Bend the F*%# out of it").

The tranny dipstick on mine does the same thing. In fact, on the hood where it has been rubbing, the paint is no longer there.

Has nothing to do with your k&n filter install. When I bought my truck in January I noticed the same thing and asked the service dept people about when I picked up the truck. They told me it was a design flaw with the tubing and that most of the newer daks did this. I was going to try and move it slightly to stop the rubbing but I figured knowing my luck I would break the flawed tube.

Since I bought the truck used, I wasn't going to bitch about it. If the truck was NEW, then I would have.
