Subject: weird coolant leak
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a strange coolant leak. It seems to be coming from one of the bolts on the lower right side of the timing cover. Does anyone know if this is a drain plug? The bolt does not appear to be completely seated in its position, but when I put a wrench on it, it wouldn't budge. I didn't want to use too much pressure in case it was a plug, since the cover is only made of aluminum. I can't find any other traces of coolant on the front of the motor. The water pump is fairly new (replaced under warranty) and the thermostat gasket is fairly new too. Any help is appreciated.

Never mind!

I found the source of the leak. It is coming from the metal coolant line on the drivers side of the water pump. It was leaking down the side of the water pump and being thrown onto the area I thought the leak was from by the bottom balancer. I should be able to fix this one for free.
