Subject: Brake Distribution Block for 98 Dakota IP: Logged
Message: I have a 98 Dakota Club Cab, V6, 2wd Automatic that I am looking for a new or used brake distribution block (or proportioning valve) - it is the steel bracket with 2 brass blocks attached to the frame just below the master cylinder / brake booster. I have ruined mine and am having a very hard time fining a replacement. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Mark

I recommend looking at their "PRESSURE METERING VALVE" it's about 300 bucks new.

Message: Try a Junk yard.. they should have allready taken the fluid out of the system. All you need is the right tool to take the mettering valve off of the vehical and then of course pay for a clean it... shouldn't be too much, these trucks were produced like bullets during world war 2 :)

Message: In many states, junkyards are not allowed by law to sell used brake parts. Reconditioned/rebuilt, yes. As-is, no.
