HI,
I have a 92, LE, reg box, extended cab with the 3.9l Magnum. I had a little accident in the Yukon last summer and now have the truck off the road to do some minor bodywork.
I figured while I've got the opportunity I might play around with the engine a bit.
I am thinking of getting a V8 TB, I recall reading somewhere that the only difference between the two is that the V6 is 55mm while the V8 is 58mm. The article I saw stated that this will increase efficiency therefore increasing power and mileage.
Is this true? Is this a good option for a simple mod to my truck? Is there anything else simple that I might be able to swap out? I don't really want to spend a ton of money, the engine runs fine now, but I figured I could have a little fun with it while I have the chance.

HI,
I found the article online a few months ago, but I didn't save it and cant remember how I found it. So yeah the TB are 42 and 48.
My dad is a mechanics teacher and he has a Couple more questions,
Is it really as simple as switching the throttle cable tot eh V8 one to make the linkages work right, and what about the transmission shift cable or the cruise control?
Any help is much appreciated.

change the cable it so much easier. i didnt go that route, i had to
cut and re weld that nipple on the linkage and even at that the
throttle cable would stick once in a while.

i agree i did this swap last weekend havnt yet noticed any differences but it went smoothly all i did was get the throttle body and cable and buy a new gasket and it was in in 30 min
