Subject: Shift Cable Replacement IP: Logged
Message: Hi All. I hydroplaned and spun my truck out this week end and hit the concrete barrier. Fortunately, due to the metal bumper and steel I did not do much damage. However, My shift cable seems to be messed up. It goes from park all the way to first with no problems but going the other way i have to apply forward pressure in order for it to move. And then it still doesnt really go into park. I had the cable replaced a couple years ago cause it was doing the same thing. I want to replace it myself but have never done so. Are there any tricks or what do I need to disconnect to get it loose? I already have access to it but not sure what is supposed to move and twist. Any info would be great. Thanks.
