Message: I bought a 97 dakota and went to do the brakes...to my surprise
an important piece is broken and I need to know what its called
so I can replace it. The broken piece is the top hole where the
caliper pins go into (its missing, snapped right off). I called the
dodge dealership and they called it a
"knuckle" and $1100 for a new one. Obviously im going to a
junkyard to replace the part but I sound like an idiot trying to
explain the part I need....
Can anyone tell me what this part is really called, I cant even find
it online. Anyone know of a discounted online parts store?
Thanks for any help

Message: And it's dealer or junkyard only, most likely. Good luck. When you put the new bolts in, use anti-seize compound and torque to factory spec.

Message: HIGH TEMP ANTI SEIZE!!! :) just make sure it's high temp.
And don't forget to put quiet disc brake silicon on the pads,
otherwise they start rattling. And make sure you screw in the
pins right, I took to get my brakes done and the guy was
screwing in my pins and one of them went in crooked, he
almost messed up the screw in hole of the steering
knuckle...that idiot! I did it myself the other time because he
messed up my brake installation. He had to buy new screws
because he messed up the creases on the bolts.

Message: One more question...
For removing the steering knuckle fron the junkyard truck do I
need those special tools? I know I need them for my truck as to not
damage the parts but for the junk truck?
