Subject: Lost coolant IP: Logged
Message: I'm loosing coolant ( 1 gal+ at a time) and have no leaks, no sweet smelling exhaust, no milky oil. Where's it at?? The temp will be fine for a week or so, then the temp runs up to *210+ and blows steam/coolant out radiator cap. Thought it was the *185 t-stat sticking (it's been in for yrs) replaced it with the *195 t-stat. A week later same thing. So today I replaced the rad cap. What am I missing, and where's my coolant?
HELP! please I'm stumped on this one.
THANKS

Might be dripping out the overflow or it is going in to the oil or your heater core is leaking. I say heater core, if you want my opinion!

Message: Not the overflow. Oil is clean. floorboard seems dry( heater core ) Now the leak is visiable from some where on the front of the motor. Haven't found it yet. Water pump bearings seem ok.
Still looking & looking for suggestions.......
Thx----Gears

Message: Check the plastic thing on the radiator pressure cap,
sometimes it cracks, or the thermostat housing hose. That
leaks coolant too because of the cheap bracelet it's on.

Message: Usually when a waterpump starts to leak it will leak through the weephole in the waterpump, bottom of the neck on the waterpump. If you crawl underneath the truck you should be able to see the weephole behind the waterpump pulley. If it's not that it could be the bypass hose. Not fun to change without removing the waterpump.
