Subject: Oil Pressure, Overdrive? IP: Logged
Message: Ok so it's normal for the oil pressure gauge
to go up and down right? I never really noticed
until I put my Harland Sharp Roller Rockers on...
And second, ok so when I press the OD button,
it lights up on my dashboard saying
O/D off, so does that mean my overdrive is off?
Because it's kinda weird that each time I turn
my truck on that will be the only
light on my dashboard that's on, if I turn off the
overdrive that light should be on?
Cause it feels like when the light
is illuminated on my dashboard, my truck feels
like it runs harder and heavier RPM's....
I want the OD off, how the he'll do I do that?
Hence, the name is Jeff Da Idiot

Message: When the light is on, O/D is off, so you are locked into no higher than 3rd gear. This is useful for towing, but without 4th (O/D), you are sucking down the gas and revving the engine more.
When the light is off, the truck can shift into O/D, thereby saving gas and wear-and-tear.

Message: Ooooh so it's better to keep the light off.
Ok kool, I have been driving the truck with
the light off. So it's ok, at one point I thought
I was wasting all my gas because it was on,
since it says it's off when you push the button.
Very confusing...thanks dude.
