Subject: error code 3-4 IP: Logged
Message: My 1989 4x4 S model Dakota continues to give a code for A/C clutch cutout relay. I do not have A/C. I have checked and cleaned egr system and vac lines, swapped out a selenoid, and replaced an air intake valve. I cleared 2 stored codes and did a hard reboot. after a test drive and check engine light comes on I recheck stored code and its the same one again for A/C clutch...WTF?! any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks! (I failed smog due to check engine light) I've done a complete tune up and fixed the above noted. First time in 20 years this has happened!

Do you have cruise control?
Has this code ever been stored before?

Message: (wipes glasses clean) I meant to post code 3-3 um duh! A/C clutch fault. No Cruise control either on an "S" model 4x4...thank you for your reply Bob! I have a friend with a OBD code reader and maybe he can clear this code. After clearing the code it took 4 minutes for the check engine light to come on and stay on. I may end up taking it in to the dealer...
