Message: Nope, you can put Magnum heads on pre-Magnum blocks.
The pushrod location and the rocker arm assemblies are different but they will work.
There are guys who have done it.

Message: No one said you couldn't use the mag heads on pre
mag motors!
What I did say was they were different
Read up, He asked what the difference was not what
parts could be swapped
and owww you better check on push rod lengths

By saying they are totally different you insinuate they won't fit or even work.
Notice I gave him somewhere to look to find out EXACTLY what the differences are.

Message: They are different in that the Magnum heads have bigger exhaust ports and flow better, and had bigger exhaust manifolds. As mentioned, the Magnum engines have multi-port fuel injection (1 injector per cylinder) instead of throttle body injection.
We don't need more hostility than is already here.

Message: my dakota was haveing alot of power issues so i took it to a shop and the dude tryed to say i needed a whole new engine b/c the timing chain was goin out. i am not about to pay 1700 dollers for a new engine and then another 1500 for labor. so i decided i am just replaceing the timing chain, does ny one know a place that will put it in for a "cheap" price in the genesse shiawasse county?
