All I got is a K&N on my 93 3.9
SUCKS! I know it got a lil bit to do with tire size, but man THAT SUCKS!

Dude no...I dont think an air filter would beat me. Didnt ask for criticsm pops. Just thought Id share that. A Civic huhn? Guess gotta have a V8 5.9 to beat it. I got 70 series tires on my truck and 8 inch rims all around about 5 sizes bigger than it soppose to have. If I would have had factory tires I would have took him on the jump and all the way.... But he got me on the jump and after I got on step he couldnt walk away at all.

I've been smoked by accords, civics, preludes, several toyotas, and a nissan or two... But usually they aren't stock.
Although it depends on the Accord, I almost purchased one. There are -two- engines, a I4 and a V6. Both move the car pretty good for it's size, I was impressed. I'm sorry guys, I can't knock Hondas or Subarus, both good cars if done right.
Adding a 6" tri-wing spoiler, stickers up the wazzo and a grapefruit-sized exuast is -not- doing it right. :0D

Accords have 3 engines, 2 l4's one is non-VETC and one is VETC. I got beat by my buddys 87 accord, all it had was rims, tires, and a glass pack(redneck ricer). He smoked me by about three car lengths. That was back when I couldn't drive. Now I just get in front, because I can take him off the line, and block the road so he can't pass :)

Bob Ross, how did the doc remove your kidney stone?
I had my first when i was 15 (i'm 19 now) and I had two surgeries, first one they cut into my back and into the kidney and took it out of there (it was the size of a golfball or a little bigger, taking up most of my left kidney). Second surgery was to remove a few pieces that had been lost from that first BIG one and not shown up on xrays cuz I had internal tissue damage blocking the xrays. For that second surgery they umm....well took a little wire with a small claw on the end and a baloon around it, they stuck that up my....up something I love, and thru my bladder, into the tube that goes before it, grabbed onto the stone, then inflated the tiny balloon that was there to expand the passage so they could rip the sonte out without tearing up my insides. Then for 5 days after that, I had a small plastic catheter inside my bladder up into that tube to keep it from swelling shut, and they need a way to get that out (obviously) so I had a string hanging out of my...that thing I love, and the strong was attached to a foam ring that was stuck around my thing I love so the string wouldn't go up inside me. The when they 0pulled that out, no anesthetic, jsut one...two...YANK.
Yes just thinking about that again makes me said, is yours worse?

I like smoking the 4Runners. . .I always whip their asses. Having open diffs on these trucks does not help much. At least i can light the tires up tho. (1991, 3.9L, 7.5mm plug wires, rapid fire plugs, K&N filter, 31" tires, catback exhaust, NO MUFFLER heheh :-Þ. Future plans include add-a-leafs from Heckethorn & torsion bar tweak and Edelbrock headers).

one more thing to think about, after they smoke you next time, LOL, At the next light roll down your window and say "ok we played your way, now how about hooking up chains" LOL, then you can really drag them around, trying to get them off your bumper then is much more fun then when tyhey are just following you.

one thing i do not understand about ricers is, they want the to be "the fastest possible, if that means stickers and a fart pipe and some stupid wing that gives them "better earodynamics" at high speeds, wht do alot of them have heavy assed sound systems that crank out 1000+ watts and add 2 hundred pounds to the car and addind 1.5 to 2 tenths average to their 1/4?

i know what you mean superbee, one thing they forget is its not only about how fast you are but also how much power you have, mine is not the fastest around but i use it to tow alot and she pulles stroger then any ricer i have ever seen.

I was reading your post and decided that it must be the driver. I beat a 96 accord w/ the v-tech by a couple car lengths. I have a completely stock 94 3.9 5 speed with 235/70 on 8 inch rims. We took him off the line and it was over from there so don't know what to say about your truck besides sorry.

dude...that is hillarious. i have an accord and yeah they are pretty quick for stock. and even quicker when hooked up. but i totally feel you on the whole bummed out thing. i'd be pissed if some lil fruit took me for 2 car lengths in a stock 4 banger. and "maybe its the driver"??? how can you

I know this is way old and all but it all depends on tire size to see how long they'll rotate all the way and if it's stick or automatic transmission If it's auto trans. u better know how to use it sumwhat as if it's a manual transmission and if it's a stick then u got the better chance for control of the gears for a good whole open throttle.... here's a hint for racing to get an edge on manual transmission only from 3rd gear drop to ur 2nd just to get that little horsepower then when u shift it back to 3rd gear ur ready to go shift to ur 4th gear already.... I do alot of racing not for fun on the streets but for money.... after upgrading all that u can u gotta try to get some of ur money back u know :) have fun racing...... gon'

has alot more to do with then tire size, try vehicle weight you probably weight 1500 pounds more than that car, not to mention your powerband down low sucks

Man id like to race someone with a Dakota.A few of you have said that you have been beat by a civic,i just cant see my car beating a Dakota.I would race my own Dakota but i dont have anyone to drive it lol.Anyone here in the Indianapolis area??I got a 98 civic with a few things done that help out a little.
But i didnt do a exhaust because you cant get the right sound out of a 4cyl.And if anyone is looking for a good gas saver for this summer it'll be for sale in june.Later
