OK, 89 Dakota 3.9
I just put in a new engine. Starts great, idles OK, but when it gets warm and you run down the road a bit and come off the accell to turn or stop, it stalls and stutters and sometimes dies like its bogging down. Sometimes shifting to neutral helps but it acts like its flooding out. Then I have to turn it over quite a bit and it eventually fires up and is raring to go.
New: injectors, idle position actuator, MAP sensor maybe 5 years old, VACUUM IS TIGHT for sure, removed the smog pump during engine swap, plugs, cap rotor all new, grounds tight but I didn't mess with the throttle body at all, Should I tear it down and clean it up with a kit? Any info is awesome, thanks!

I have an 88 and I think what could be happening is the ignition control (in the dist.) could be going bad, I have had the same problem with mine twice and both times it was the "Hall Effect" piece inside the dist. its easy to change just a couple of screws, and its ready to come out. Well let me back up, remove the dist cap and rotor then the 2 screws I am talking about are on the out side of the dist. just be careful you don't drop them, they are small. put the new one in, plug it in and you should be ready to go.
Though since you said you didn't touch the throttle body, at the least shoot some carb cleaner through the top part and try some fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank. IF it is the Hall Effect it will only get worst until it dies completely. Then you go through a lot of testing because you can't test the Hall effect piece, at least that's what my Hanes book says so you are suppose to test everything else and if they are ok, its the Hall effect by elimination.
Good Luck, I have had mine since 2001 and I rebuilt my engine and I enjoy it, I usually get 16-17 miles per gallon around town, and around 19-20 on highway, once I got 22mpg, but that only happened once so I think that was just a fluke.

It also could be a worn distributor shaft bushing and or worn timing chain.
