i got a 97 dak auto and ive already done a flush and change the filter and the truck shifts fine in normal driving and had overdrive but when i mash the gas at about 45 i guess. the truck will act like it jumps out of gear and hits the limiter a bunch until it jumps back in gear or i let off of it and it doesnt gain speed while its doing this. what causes the truck to do this?

There is a transmission cable on the side of the throttle body that may need adjusting. You also may have a problem with the throttle position sensor on the side of the throttle body.

Get some seafoam trans tune. If you still have the 518 its probably a valvebody. Mine does it too

97 uses a 'stupid' vacuum operated downshifter .
You may be able to adjust the cable/linkage to
work better..

Mine will do this when shifting from 2-3, and
sometimes from 1-2.

We ran it hot a few times. So long as it is not
totally interfering with your daily drive habits,
I wouldnt worry about it. Those trannies will run
forever and a day. Ive got 225000 miles on mine
and it still chugs along.

Of course I cant get it over 100 downhill, but it
gets me there.
