My buddy has a 2001 Dakota w/ the 3.9 V6; quad cab Sport. He wants to put a rear end out of a 4x4 dakota and was wondering what would work? I have no idea what his current rearend is. Or what locker do you gys recommend? links would be grateful as I drive a 4x4 Ranger and have no clue about Dakotas

Dixie, without the benefit of a cross reference book, I think '97 to '04 rear out of any 2 or 4wd Dak should fit. They came with either a 8.25" or 9.25" rear end. Both should have the same mounting dimensions. Also, note that the '00 & '01 QC's have 11" rear drums. The RC's and CC's have 9" rear drums.
