Subject: i need help IP: Logged
Message: about a week ago i got in my truck to go to school and it wouldnt start so when i got hom i jumped it and started right up but the alt. didnt show any voltage and i drove it for a week no prob till this mor and it happend again and i notice that each time its happen i had under a 1/8 a tank 2000 3.9 2wd

Message: well jump it again take it to advanced auto or some place like that have them test the battery and alternator. since you only had it happen twice i would say the gas problem was probably not it.

Message: You're in school? English teacher needs to be fired.
As for the truck, Get a meter on it make sure it's
charging. Then Make sure you are hearing fuel pump
prime when you turn the key on. If so I would
suggest a bottle of dry gas or water remover in the
tank and fill it.

Message: take it to a parts store do what they call a load test /not a batt load tester its a dignostic tool that gives ya compleat sys check while ya car is runnin what it does is checks ya sys to see if batt good alt good and with sys shut down it does a check to see if ya have a sysytem back feed more or less some thing could be draining ya batt audio amp acc. door jam switch anything could be the cause

Message: The voltage regulator for your charging system is in the PCM (engine computer). Nobody has mentioned that it could've failed. Hopefully not, but it's a possiblity. Have you made sure to clean the battery posts real well? High resistance at any of the battery cable connections will result in your battery not getting enough current.
