Message: first off i would like to know if the 3.9L magnums have a knock sensor and EGR valve, and if so, where are they located?
Secondly, does putting a V8 throttle body on the 6 Cyl decrease fuel economy?
thirdly, When my engine is cold (during winter) it makes a whistling noise until you hit the gas a bit. what is cuasing this?
How many oxygen sensors are there and where are they hidden?
thanks for time!!

Message: Me again
OK 1999 3.9's do not have an EGR or knock sensor.
I don't even think they used the knock sensor
untill they went to the 3.7's & 4.7's
"Secondly, does putting a V8 throttle body on the
6 Cyl decrease fuel economy? "
Yes & NO
Drive normal like you have been you'll be ok
infact might even see a slight increase in MPG's.
However
You will get a slight increase in HP & TRQ.
and more then likely you'll went to have fun with
it.
You'll need a TB from a non EGR motor
one of the other guys will have to help you with
years. (If memory serves me right I think 96 was
the last year for EGR) But I'm not positive.
Also you may need the throttle cable from the
donor truck/van.
"How many oxygen sensors are there and where are
they hidden"
You will have 1 before and 1 after the Cat/Cats.\
Rather easy to find just look for the wires/Plugs.
Hope this helped
need anymore just ask. & welcome to

Message: "do throttle body spacers really do anything?"
Yes
They make awsome paper weights!
Pick your favorite color.
As for performance & MPG's NO
Swirling the air before the gas is mixed in
does nothing.

Message: '96 model-year was the FIRST year for OBD-II, so the last year for EGR would have been '95.

affect my air/fuel ratio to be higher then normal at slower

Message: Richard, your speedometer doesn't register until 60km/hr? Another question, Are your ABS and BRAKE lights on? If you have all 3 of those your RWSS(Rear Wheel Speed Sensor) maybe out.
Now to answer your question, No. The air fuel ratio is determined by a few things but I don't think speed is taken into account for that. Engine speed but not vehicle speed.

Message: My mechanic plugged his OBDII device into my truck and the
PCM wouldn't show speed until about 60km/hr. He thinks it's
a PCM problem. What do you think?

Message: It is very rare that a problem with a PCM comes up. I have never seen a post on here with a problem like yours. I would think it's more a sensor problem than a PCM problem.
How did you check the tranny sensor?
