I just recently built a dakota it has a 1997 v6 and trans but a 1998 wiring harness and everything pluged up but a 3 pronged white plug on the drivers side end of the transmission.. what is that? everything works speedometer and such but ever so often the check engine light will come on and read codes P0751 and p0420 ...p0751 is o/d switch pressed(lo) more than 5 minutes ... could that be where my over drive wires are touching all the time because the button is broke or what.. overdrive works though.. then what can you tell me about code p0420 thanks for any help i get

Sounds like catalayic converter is not working to its potential that it was design to.....
