 Subject: 3.9 v6 to a 5.9 v8 swap

I am now the proud owner of a 2003 Dodge Dakota that i bought at 43000 miles. It currently has the standard 5-speed v6 which is nice but i was really wanting to upgrade to the r/t version 5.9 v8. I've read that doing this I would be wise to invest in a new transmission as well. I need to know everything required to swap out these engines down to every detail so if anyone could lend me some information that would be greatly appreciated

ok so i have done this but heres the thing you do need to switch the tranny the 5.9 will tear the gears out of you 5sp dodge couldnt get the standard trannys to last in the RT's
so you need the complet motor trany oh and dont forget the harness and ecu both under the hood and dash if you have difrent options like no power windows no cruise than the new motor did or vice versa you are acutally now into the dash wireing keep in mind now you have 2 more cyclenders and an automatic tranny to tell what 2 do. email me straight at y2kkustomes@yahoo.ca we can get into good depth there and i now this like the back of my hand
