Message: Yes, air can get sucked in at any gasket point, or if a hose is loose on a fitting.
Bleeding air out is most effective by parking uphill, so the radiator is quite a bit higher than the thermostat, and running it with the cap off and heater on high.

Message: I'll try to replace the intake manifold gasket first when i get the chance. It wont be done for at least 6 weeks because i just had surgery on my foot. So at least i can save the money to get it without any problems. I'll let you guys know if it works or not. I just pray that it's not the head gasket because that will be the last straw for me for my dakota

Message: Yeah, i always replace the gaskets when i replace anything on my dakota. I don't want to sound like a smart a$$ but its kinda of obvious to replace old gaskets since they're usually under $5 for any new gasket. I know it'ss the intake manifold from what I know and what fotodak said confrimed it so that's my next project but it wont be able to do it for a while
