I think I have screwed up. To save money, I put a v8 TB on my 92 3.9L. I spent hours looking through various posts on the subject, but I didn't find any warning against matching the manifold ports to the TB until after I did it. So now I have a 50MM V8 TB and 50mm manifold ports on a V6. I still have the original V6 TB. I don't know what size it is (42-46mm??) The cheapest option for me is to clean up the V6 TB(remove air horns, and polish out the steps). Will that work well, or do I need to replace the manifold? What is the best way to fix this regardless of the money, and what is the cheapest?

All you need to do is remover the 50mm TB
Replace it with a
42, 46 but no more then a 48mm TB

and you're good to go

I ported and polished a V6 TB
I also ported and polished a V8 TB

The V8 TB has significantly more balls!!
I just dumped the the TB on my 92 V6 and kapow!!!
No matched nothing!!!

re-adjust the TPS and replace the V6 throttle cable with one
from a V8 and sweet chickens!!

The V8 body has a 48mm torque step and will work
just fine as is

No you do not need to open the intake
ports to 50mm

Low end will be the same but a noticeable increase
will be noticed from around 1800rpm to redline

On dyno runs the bigger V8 body will add 15 to 18
hp and 20 to 25 torque at the wheels
