Subject: engine operates too cool IP: Logged
Message: i have a 1996 Dodge Dakota v6 that operates barely above cold on the temp gauge...also have very little heat in cab. i changed the thermostat but this changed nothing....any suggestions

Message: dont remember... buy it was probably a 195 degree cheapo from advance auto....its been 2 yrs. but it did't work then....its still the same

Message: Maybe the fan clutch is malfunctioning and staying engaged all the time. You may want to backflush the heater core too. Common problem.

Message: Have you tried to bleed the heater hoses,just take the one at the water pump off untill it comes out fast and re-insall. Hope this works. JD.

Message: I had this happen a few years ago. The new thermostat was defective. The 2nd one worked. The defect rate for new parts is higher, now that outsourcing has sent them to Asia.
