i have a 1996 Dodge Dakota v6 that operates barely above cold on the temp gauge...also have very little heat in cab. i changed the thermostat but this changed nothing....any suggestions

dont remember... buy it was probably a 195 degree cheapo from advance auto....its been 2 yrs. but it did't work then....its still the same

Maybe the fan clutch is malfunctioning and staying engaged all the time. You may want to backflush the heater core too. Common problem.

Have you tried to bleed the heater hoses,just take the one at the water pump off untill it comes out fast and re-insall. Hope this works. JD.

I had this happen a few years ago. The new thermostat was defective. The 2nd one worked. The defect rate for new parts is higher, now that outsourcing has sent them to Asia.
