Message:
1992 V6 3.9 4x4 has a pin hole leak in the oil pan right above the oil pan plug. Is the pan a straight remove or do I need to loosen anything else up? thanks

KJB do not mess with a rusty or rotted oil pan.
Yes you're on the right track (replace it)

Now question is how much mechanical know how do you have?

thanks for your reply - the crossmember is going to cause the problem - I'm assuming I need to raise the engine up enough to clear the oil pump and screen after I loosen up the pan but not sure I want to try that - the entire underbody is dirty/rusty so I'm concerned about additional damage - too bad - picked up the truck for $100 -72,000 miles - one owner - no body rust - just needs brakes and the oil pan fix - do I waste my time with JB Weld?

ok so no JB Weld - I took another look at the pan and it is rusty in multiple areas. Is the oil tube and screen flexible enough to bend if I can get the pan loose and slid out or do I still need to loosen up engine. Both the axle and crossmember are in the way. Thanks
