Subject: resistor pack IP: Logged
Message: where in the heck is the resistor pack for the heater fan speeds on an 02 dakota???? There is nothing under the dash on passenger side or in side kick panels. There are no resistor pack for heater in the outside fuse box or inside fuse box as well, just fuses which are all fine. I've replaced switch assembly for heater and still no #1 fan speed!! can someone help??

Message: Look under the dash in the passengers side ... you will see a connector .. its a 5 pin .... resistor pack bolts into the housing with 2 screws .

Message: 2001 Dakota. Replaced resistor on several occasions. On the last Blower failure, the terminals on my resistor corroded and the resistance melted the connector. Cut off the melted connector, cleaned the resistor terminals, soldered wires directly onto the resistor terminals, and used Marr connectors to join back into the wiring harness.
No more problem for the last 2 years.
