Hey guys, my 98 4x4 automatic is getting extremely hard to take off. It starts fine, no problem, but I cant take my foot off the gas or it dies. kind of like the alternator isnt working. but the battery seems to be holding its charge. once I get it into gear it runs fine until the next start.
It just wont idle until I put it into gear, but after I get past the first take off everything is fine, it will then idle when I stop. no lights and I havent noticed anything out of the ordinary.
any ideas?

1st off its apparent the idiot above doesn't know how to spell mechanic
ok TF you need to have the battery "load" tested
not just tested
and from your post above
"the battery seems to be holding its charge"
this means nothing

Check your fuel pump relay. We had to replace that cuz it was doing the same thing on a coworkers truck
