Message: With everyone(most) complaining about mileage heres one anyone heard this one, the first 100 miles + or - few miles on the first 1/4 of a tank of gas then next 1/4 about 50-60 miles ? whats with that then average it out when refilling 16.2-16.7 mpg in the city. It makes me think something is wrong here like the pcm goes in a different mode after so many miles driven. When truck was newer it avg. 18-19 in the city, yea theres wear and tear after yrs go by but I kept up on the maintenance since new and have changed 02's to denso once already but thinking I need to again along with a tuneup. Yes I have done some mods but being respectful to doing them making sure its the right approach. I know these trucks are not gas misers but this is my mileage blunder to all that reads

Message: First - fuel guage is not perfectly linear .
After that , a lot of variables
fuel now probably has some ethanol in it ?
Cleaner , but uses a little more .
O2 sensor - seems they like NGK/NTK .
Choice of plugs ?
And - amount of traffic and lights or stop signs stopped at, and how long..

Message: maybe? something in my mind tells me else like pcm has learned my driving habits which would make sense to me . Changing these sensors and plugs etc. wouldn't help that much for improving mpg (a little) just have to live with it or get rid of it which I like my truck and keep on tinkering around with it to it dies!!

Message: Well did the third mod colder plug went with 3923's and along with the others in past IAT relocate, K&N air filter, changed TPS sensor I didn't have to drill spacers out already reading .75 volts changed 02's to Denso bout 30+ ago. Upped air pressure to 33 psi. from 30 psi,I will check the the mileage now . I noticed only one plug #6 had some brown peppering on the insulator and the others greyish to some light brown color these been in there as long as 02's they were platinum Champions stock heat range. I am still running Mobil 1 10w30 and semi synthetic ATF +4 trans fluid as it calls for.

Message:
Gas guage is not acurate on these trucks. 1/2 tank on the guage is not actually 1/2 tank.
NTK o2 sensors are best
3923's are one of the best plugs for our trucks, also NGK V-power fr5 plugs. I gap mine @ .030 instead of .040, it seems to work a little better for fuel economy.
I think the IAT relocate mod in counter productive for fuel economy. Anyone else know about that?

Message: My last mileage with temps around 30 to 40
degree's was 21.4 with lots of hot rodding
95 4x4 with all the mods and bolt on's and a
hotter cam
A stock dak should get between 17 to 19mpg highway
