Will a Trans from a v8 fit in as a replacement for my v6? Any tips would help. Hoping for a direct replacement.

If same model - yes , measure length to verify .
I believe that you need the V6 torque converter
to match up the spark timing..

The timing ring is on the flex plate and not the torque converter so as long as you don't remove your existing flex plate you will be ok or just reuse your torque converter from the V-6 transmission if its not damaged. You can use a transmission from a 318-5.2L NOT the 360-5.9L
