Message: Hey guys, got a 98 v6 4x4..
One day my OBS and Brake lights came on, and stayed on. at that same time, my speedometer quit working for everything under 45mph. As long as I go over 45mph it works fine.. Now my truck seems to be getting worse, it dies frequently and my gas mileage has been cut in half.. The truck smells like it is running way to rich..
You guys got any ideas?
Is this a sensor problem?
thanks,
GMB

Message: ok, after more research it looks like it might be the rear ABS speed sensor located on the differential.
Anybody know where that sensor is located exactly, and how to change it?
thanks

Message: No Video sorry, It's not hard. I beleave it's one bolt and one elec plug on top of the diff. Just be gentle removing the old one, It'll be suck alittle. Just twist (rotating) back and forth as you pull on it to remove.once it lifts alittle try a blast of penitrating oil. remember twisting while pulling to work the old one out.Mine when out last year.
Hope that helps..........

Message: Hey guys,
just changed my sensor and it fixed the problem.
very easy to change. just remove the nut holding the brake line in place, then remove the bolt that is holding the sensor.. I used a flat screw driver to pry the sensor out, it was in there pretty good.
thanks for helping!!
and no more lights!!
