I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota and my clutch just went today. This year I have already replaced my water pump and my fuel pump, as well as spending $1000 two years in a row for inspection and emission. Damn near everything on my truck has been replaced and it still needs new belts all the time and I had my heater core replaced 3 times in one year. Have had my O2 sensor replaced twice and now I think it needs it again. What the crap Dodge? I think they make crappy cars so you are always fixing and fixing and fixing and well you get the point.

Sounds like you are a victim of planned failure " auto myth" and cheap parts used by the shop that does the work on your truck. Demand better service or do the work yourself.
To do the latter you might wanna go to a tech school and learn the automotive trade. Or get passionate and devote a couple months to learning the systems of your truck and how to diagnose and repair.

four 20 has it right.
$1000. 2YRS.IN A ROW for emmissions issues.
needs new belts ALL THE TIME.
O2 sensor replaced TWICE.
heater core replaced 3 TIMES IN ONE YEAR don't blame the truck.you're getting bent over by your shop mechanic.textbook case of a female getting burned. as four 20 said -- "... learning the systems of your truck and how to DIAGNOSE and repair." good luck.

Catherine, Sorry to see you so displeased with your Dakota.
I have an '00 also with approx. 110k miles on it and I haven't replaced anything other than normal wear items. It could be lack of or poor maintenance by whohever has been doing your repair work.

Have you ever gotten a second opinion on this? If this is fact, didn't anyone look for mis-aligned accessory pullies?
"my clutch just went today" How many miles on your truck? Clutches don't last forever. Although mine has over 100k and still feels like new. Do you ever rest your foot on the clutch pedal while cruising?
"I had my heater core replaced 3 times in one year." Again, did you get second opinions on this? Also, the original could have gone out from lack of / improper maintenance.
"had my O2 sensor replaced twice and now I think it needs it again." Once more, this could just be a case of incompetent/ dishonset servicing. What makes you think they need replacing again?
One thing I will give you though. In my 30+ years of owning and driving my own vehicles, no mattter what make or model, you will hit a lemon once in a while. But some of your problems just seem out of line.

STS if you really have nothing more to say than what you just posted perhaps you should move on my man.
Its easy to get ripped off by mechanics. You put your trust in them. With little to no understanding of your vehicle, they can claim what they want and you can only pay. Others cannot properly troubleshoot the components. They wind up replacing parts until they get the problem solved. Most people never question why components fail before their lifespan.

First, I don,t think it was the real sts posting. Sounds like the peterpan troll again.. I do agree that something is wrong. I,ve got almost 100k and still running the original belt(got to change that out before winter). I have replaced the O2s but clutch and waterpump are still ok. Ether its getting beat every day or someones using bad parts.
