Subject: motor and trans swap IP: Logged
Message: i have a 1993 dodge dakota 3.9 v6 reg can long bed. the frame on her is pretty much shot so i bought a newer 96 dodge dakota ext cab reg bed. my question is will the motor and trans from the 93 work with the 96 and what if any speacial mods will i need to do. both are auto. thank you. also the reason im doing this is my 93 only has 80,000 on it and th new one has 200,00 and a trans that is pretty much useless. reverse sometims and only works in scond gear

Message: One thing I would like to point out.
Save and use the Exhaust manifolds and Y-Pipe
from that 93 if their in good shape.
You will also want to use the intake from the 96
(the truck you're putting the 93 into)
93 EGR and I believe 96 non EGR
You'll have to wait for the other guys for trans help.

Message: the only diff with the motors is the egr
use the 96 throttle body and block off the
egr stuff you do not need to change the
intake manifold just make a plate for both
intake and exhaust egr with gasket
the reason to use the 93 exhaust man's is they
are larger and flow better
Trans no
93 RH hydrolic gov control
96 RE computer gov control you willneed to
find a good RE trans
every thing else will bolt up and plug in
