you can do it with them on but you will need
a few things

adapter to screw into plug hole and hook air
to

a hand valve spring compresser

a crank pully holder strap so it does not
turn when you apply air

remove valve covers and rocker arms
put cyl working on to tdc apply air
remove keepers nad springs and seal

now hold onto the valve and get the seal started
now hold at top and seat seal
replace keepers with spring compresser

if you do happen to drop a valve with the piston
up it will not fall out will hit piston
if piston is down than it cAN fall into cyl

if you do it this way just take your time and
be carful

Thanks Larry,

That was the exact method that I used.
I had no problems with valves 1,2,3,4
But I couldn't get the springs off of 5 and 6.

Needless to say I gave up on them after about 10 hours of total work.
I will go back and try them again once I get moved into my new house.

Do you have any suggestions of how it
would be easier to get to those two
cylinders with the spring compresser?
