Message: I assume you're using some kind of scanner to be getting percentages? Percentages are irrelevant. You need to set the closed throttle TPS voltage no more than .7-.75vdc. Any higher and you get the high idle.
Backprobe the center wire with the positive lead from a DVOM and ground the other. Now key on, engine not running, adjust the voltage to no more than +.75vdc.
The PCM will know when the throttle is wide open even though you only read 80.8% on your scanner. The PCM will know that the 80.8% is as good as it's going to get and will go WOT.

You can do whatever you want to alter the signal. Now,(disclaimer) if it will ruin the PCM or not who knows. But, I seriously doubt you will get any more out of it. The TPS is not the only thing the PCM relies on to determine fuel flow.
In closing, I guess you didn't thoroughly read my first post on this.

Message: key on engine off
center wire pos
and ground I always ground right to batt termanal
on an obd2 if you go above .8 it will never idle
down as daddo said
.6 to .7 now snug down do not over tighten or
they will bind up
now key on engine off open and close throttle
seval times it should always return to sam low
volts if not replace
and any time you change the tps setting you must
start and stop the motor 3 or 4 times so it learns
its new idle setting
by using the scanner and setting for 90% you
screwed yourself on the idle side
the comp will learn idle and peak voltage for
wot wide open throttle why the ever went with the
percetage on the obd2 scanners is crap and sensles
don't go by that use a volt meter
the obd1's you could gett away with a 1 volt
or higher idle the obd2's you cant anything
over .8 tells the comp that the throttle is
open and off idle
