Subject: Torque on 42RE band LOCKnuts critical? IP: Logged
Message: I've adjusted the rear band inside the trans. Used a torque wrench and counted out the turns to back off. Thing is I couldn't get my torque wrench on the LOCK nut. So I tightened it with a box wrench. It's not coming off - but will this be alright if it's a tad over the 25 or 30 ft lb spec for the locknut?

Message: Over is not a problem if you did not snap it off. Under is a problem, because the adjustment would change. Making sure the adjusting nut did not turn while you tightened the locknut is critical.
